A few months ago I had been at Isle Fashions in East Norwich, Long Island. I was there to buy a skirt when a beautifully sophisticated cocktail dress caught my eye. Perfect for an elegant summer garden party, I had no particular purpose for it at the moment and it was too big of a splurge to buy ‘just in case the right occasion should arise’. It was a memorable dress, and like most women, this goddess knows when fashion is a must have. I hoped an occasion would present itself.

Little did I know then, that my son and his future bride would ask to get married at our country house in Connecticut this coming Labor Day Weekend. The house is ideally situated and I am blessed with a mountain view from on high -it is my very own Mount Olympus!

And then I remembered that dress, absolutely perfect for a garden wedding. I panicked and hoped the dress was still available. Isle Fashions was able to obtain it, and I knew I would feel elegant as Mother of the Groom, and hostess.
This divine dress has a pale pink bodice with thin pink straps. The fitted A-line skirt is a pale mauve and it is gathered at one side, adorned with a pink and mauve toned flower with deep mauve and copper embroidery and beading. It is complimented by a pink bolero jacket with a ruffled collar -it will be perfect for the ceremony.
I have given life to an English garden for the wedding ceremony that overlooks the blue/green mountain. I will bring pictures to the blog and tell you all about it, soon!
